Mike Webb's killer sentenced to 20 years in prison

For those of us following the tragic story of the former Seattle talk-radio host:

A King County Superior Court judge lambasted a mentally ill transient in court Friday, calling the man "cunning, callous and calculating" for killing Seattle radio talk-show host Mike Webb with an ax and then hiding the remains.

Judge Jeffrey Ramsdell then surprised the courtroom packed with Webb's friends and family by handing Scott White a sentence far above what was being sought by the King County Prosecutor's Office. White, 30, will spend about 20 years behind bars for the April 2007 slaying.

Webb's brother and sister, who were upset by Prosecutor Dan Satterberg's decision to seek a 12-year sentence for second-degree murder in exchange for White's guilty plea, were pleased with the sentence.

he was probably my all time favorite talk show host...he used to rip Bush and the rest of those punks apart and had you laughing while doing it.

4. I'm glad the judge made the sentence longer

The killer was mentally ill and a transient. That means he had no treatment for his illness and no network of family or friends who cared. The extra time behind bars will give Mike Webb's family a sense of added security, and may help the killer get the help he needs in regards to his mental illness. At the very least, he'll not be a threat to society for a while longer.
