WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The CIA withheld information about a secret counter-terrorism program from Congress for eight years on orders from former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, the New York Times said on Saturday.

Citing two unidentified sources, the newspaper said Central Intelligence Agency Director Leon Panetta disclosed Cheney's involvement in closed briefings to congressional intelligence committees late last month.

To do much of anything, let alone something this big?

Until full scale investigations and prosecutions take place, this country will NEVER remedy the corruption and abuse of power from the past, and in the future, in Washington. Cheney was an underling in the Nixon Administration, and an alarming pattern has clearly developed, when things are "swept" under the rug. And this is not just one isolated incident... It is widespread, and this is just the tip of the iceberg.
