Cheney's ASSASSINS And Poindexter's TIA

There's some info coming out now that may be flying somewhat under the radar about two very important and relatively unknown but suspected "super" black programs that were being operated under the Cheney-Bush Regime. I just want to point DU'ers to threads and links because developments regarding the future investigations into these programs will almost certainly be significant in any hopeful prosecutions that may be forthcoming.

First we have to remember the TIA program that was floated during the early years of Bush II and was supposed to be headed by Poindexter. It was widely reported that this was scuttled because of the outcry that ensued after it's initial exposure. Anyone paying attention knew better and suspected that it was merely blacked out. And now we have reports of some super-secret intelligence program that was being operated out of the Executive Office that was above and beyond any domestic wiretapping scandal. I suspect this is the Poindexter TIA operation wihich is a "Total Information Awareness" operation. Concoct your own fantasies as to what THAT means.

Secondly we now have had reports of Cheney operating a super black assassination program and now the NYT is reporting his involvement in the concealment of a super black program from any sort of oversight. I suspect THIS is the assassination program.

When you watch video of Iraq and what a goddamn violent, murderous shame it was....you just know how evil our projected power can be when it sacrifices all of our ideals and is in service of money. I suspect it was well underway long before it was "scuttled" – which of course never happened. There was NO scuttling; it only expanded.

Are we the people strong enough to excise the cancer of these shadow governments – so tightly wrapped around the fragile heart of what's left of our nearly extinct democracy?

The lesson I took from the various David vs Goliath tales was the power of righteously applied physics. A rock. A sling. Some spins. Damn accurate release. Goliath falls.

I think the Neda moment, in Iran, is one of these "rocks" in terms of social & political velocity. But then again, I thought the fearless Chinese guy with the grocery bags, standing down the line of tanks was such a moment. But giants do fall.

Some days, it's just hard to stay hopeful when I am this cynical.

And yet, still caffeinated, I'm just now back from a most glorious and rare experience. My 25 year old son married this evening, the ceremony forced inside by the arrival of a monster rain storm (continuing to pass over). It was a little disappointing, but till beautiful; the kids are married none-the-less.

During the reception, there was a half hour break with strong sun. A magnificent, full 180º, double-rainbow appeared, horizon-to-horizon. No one's camera could capture more than a small segment of the arch. A cousin said, "I'd swear I was tripping. The colors are more vibrant than I've ever seen." If one was not a believer in omens before ... We don't get the rainbow, without the storm.

I'm exhausted, but again renewed, by the optimism of our children, and the ever surprising beauty of Nature.

Neighbors, IMHO: this thread IS a man behind the curtain event in our history. A glimpse of one of the herd of elephants in the room.

Very glad to read your post, it filled my heart with hope. So much better than all of those "we're screwed" posts. Not in denial (denial is the worst IMHO), you acknowledged the huge odds we're up against, but still bringing our thoughts forward to positive action. Well done, we need more of this attitude around here.

Indeed. I have hope that there are good people in this admin. who want to do the right thing. In fact, there is another story out now in Newsweek that Holder is in fact strongly considering go after torture indictments.
