Dallas Police Scale Back Security for Home of Former President George W. Bush
Dallas has scaled back some of the police protection it was providing at the home of former President George W. Bush — a cut some said was due to financial constraints.

The city has been struggling with a $190 million budget deficit.

Dallas-Fort Worth television station KTVT reports the three tactical officers assigned to rotating eight-hour shifts will no longer be on the street outside the former president's north Dallas home. The city would save about $300,000 a year with the change.

Officials said in early January that the cost of providing crowd and traffic control at Bush's new home could reach $1 million a year, the Dallas Morning News reported.

1. Is best people just wait till the World Court prosecutes him, we won't
then they can provide 'security'.

4. He lives there; Laura lives in Dallas
This pull back by the Dallas Police makes sense when you consider he isn't even living there.

12. Nope just friends who live nearby
The MSM also knew Laura was living in the Mayflower Hotel in DC but never reported that. So big news doesn't always get told. :)

from a main route. Parked in front was one Secret Service minivan. That was it.

7. I'm sure they had others that weren't as obvious. Inside and out behind.

But definitely not to the extent that is apparent for the idiot ex President.

Just 3,479 days before his Secret Service is canceled. (9 years, 6 months and 8 days)

While the protection for the Clintons will continue.

20. Are they staffing both sites to or nearly to the max?
Just because he is in Crawford and she is in Dallas?

9. Would like to be a fly on the window long enough to hear what the guys
working this assignment call this duty. I would guess they have some interesting names for watching over a disgruntled ex-librarian whose buffoon husband embarrassed her endlessly in the eyes of the entire world.

And would also love to know the names for working security at "The Ranch" (where cows actually were imported for awhile, until The Boss Of The Ranch decided they left too much mess around.)

I always wonder how many other "ranches" in the United States are entirely horseless because The Boss Of The Ranch is afraid of horses.

15. They don't seem to be too fond of him
I met a few in Crawford. They were professional but never sounded like they were overly fond of Dubya.

10. If Bush would only get hit by an asteroid we could cancel the detail
and save some tax bucks instead of flushing it down the sewer protecting that drunk.

Hey, I can dream can't I?

16. When is his library going to open up?
We need to hound this fucker and he'll make appearances at his library. It'll be the only place he knows his "fans" will congregate and Bush has a massive ego that needs to be fed.
