18. my guess it is contrary to the approach we have here
that you're some kind of deviant if you enjoy sense - much more healthy way of approaching the topic.

10. Well, what sort are they talking about
Are they saying that students should be dating Rosie Palm and her five sisters, perform diagnostics on their man (or woman) tool, or varnish the flagpole on a daily basis? Or that they should be doing it with someone else?

and probably be less likely to rile the feathers of the overly uptight..

Besides, like someone said above, as if teenagers need to be told to put their hands to use.

I wish they would have said the age of these school children - I'm guessing high schoolers since the little kids wouldn't be quite ready for this.

17. I understand this to be aimed at high-school aged kids.
"A National Health Service leaflet is advising school pupils that they have a “right” to an enjoyable sex life and that regular intercourse can be good for their cardiovascular health. "

As long as this is taught within a broader program that includes information about birth control and healthy relationships I can't see anything surprising or controversial about teaching teens that human beings have a right to an enjoyable sex life and that sex has many health benefits.

Edited on Mon Jul-13-09 02:31 AM by Maru Kitteh
We should decide how we wish to define that abuse as a society and enforce it collectively, as opposed to the patchwork of state laws that exist now.

21. I did that as Independent Study.
While I applaud less repressed thinking, I don't think anybody needs to tell healthy teenagers to rub one off every now and then. Unless teenagers have changed dramatically since I was one, that'd be a bit like telling them to breathe, or roll their eyes a lot, or something else teenagers do as a matter of instinct.

I assume the publication in question is "Pleasure" -- I haven't found text on the web, but the Sheffield Centre page contains a pdf-link to articles about the pamphlet, indicating it is directed at professionals who work with youth
