Am I the only one who never even looks at the greatest page?

This whole Rec/Unrec thing seems like the ultimate tempest in the teapot for me, considering I don't think I've ever even looked at the greatest page before this whole drama and I've been posting on/lurking on the DU for 5 years.

1. I gave up on it before, but now it's actually a really nice feature.

It's full of genuinely interesting threads and topics. The new rec/unrec feature is working wonderfully, IMHO.

But I am finding it interesting to watch threads critical of the administration un-rec'd multiple time seconds after they are posted. I'm not sure what that is supposed to accomplish.
All in all it makes no difference to me, I read as much as I have time for regardless of recs.

15. The top 5 "Greatest Threads" are shown on the DU frontpage

so they get a lot of exposure to non-DUers/lurkers. It's sort of the "face" of DU to the outside world.

two days ago when this thing started blowing up. Who cares what the greatest posts are in the eyes of others on DU I can find them on my own.

party either. I don't see where dissent is being supressed as some say.

I hadn't looked at it until last week, and don't plan to again. I only look at the latest. I wish there were rec/unrec buttons right on the latest page. I don't need to open the 50th Palin or Michael Jackson post today to know I want to unrec it. (actually I just want to easily unrec. I would open before rec'ing.)

Only looked at it a couple of times since the recent head explosions. I never needed other people to tell me what threads I should be looking at since I can figure that out on my own. I've always just gone back and forth between GD and LBN with occasionally straying into another forum or two to see if there's anything I think interesting.

Go straight to GD, and navigate from there to others, like LBN and the more specific forums like Humor or Musicians...Never even see the DU front page.
