Pat Buchanan: Palin’s husband should murder Levi

Conservative pundit and onetime Nixon aide Pat Buchanan suggested in an interview Monday that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s husband should murder her daughter’s ex-boyfriend for speaking unfavorably about her campaign and decision to resign.

“Well, first, with regard to Levi, I think First Dude up there in Alaska, Todd Palin, ought to take Levi down to the creek and hold his head underwater until the thrashing stops,” Buchanan quipped.

TIME’s Mark Halperin chuckled and remarked, “That’s a reality show, right there.”

This video is from MSNBC’s Morning Joe, broadcast July 13, 2009.

1. "metaphorically speaking, of course"
and, metaphorically speaking, Pat should be lined up in front of a firing squad.

4. Pat Buchanan is, was, and always will be a nutjob.
But really...he wasn't advocating murder. Raw Story needs to get a grip. Even Pat Buchanan should be allowed to make a comment like "I oughta break your neck"...or "I could KILL you"...etc. etc.

The context of the question asked, and his response, was irreverent and in my opinion there are far more incendiary right wing comments out there to get worked up about than this.

6. I watched Levi being interviewed on NBC this morning.
He comes across as being more intelligent than either of the Palins.

7. Really? Why murder such a wonderful upstanding kid
who is trying to take responsiblity for his actions? Afterall he loved his GF and child. At least he was going to marry her unlike those disgusting democrats who just have multiple baby mommas/daddies and out of wedlock children.

The repukes sure know how to change their tune. :eyes:

11. I love these guys that talk so tough. Back it up Pat
I was watching the old Nazi spew that crap on Matthews (BTW isn't it about time for another vacation, Chris?) and I was thinking - I ain't to sure that the first dude wouldn't be the one with his face in the creek if he scrapped with Mr. Johnston.

I have always hated tshirts that say horseshit like "Losing is not an option." Especialluy when I see them on 10 year olds. And when I see an old horses ass like Buchanan spouting this tough guy crap, I want to just reach through the screen, grab them by the neck, pull them into my living room and say "Let's talk."
While I am ranting, what is so fucking scary about Chuck Norris and why does Hucky thinks it impresses people to have a tough guy around to fight his fights?

22. I imagine he is.
Sarah doesn't hesitate to belittle him publicly. I don't believe she would keep her mouth shut about it if he weren't contributing to support the child.

23. Last I heard, he's not.
I don't follow the Palin family soaps, but I read something recently about it. Apparently he's fighting the Palin's via his lawyer because they don't let him see the kid much, claiming that he doesn't get to see the kid since he doesn't pay child support. His lawyer didn't dispute their position, but claimed that he should get to see the kid anyway since he'll start contributing once he gets a career going.
