the Lindsey Graham MO
People seem to be taking his comments today to reflect that the Sotomayor nomination is a done deal. And While I'm sure it is I think its good to remember that Lindsey was at one time considered to be the most reasonable among the House Judiciary folks during the Clinton Impeachment mess. That is how he made his name. By the end little Lindsey was the most vocal in calling for a Presidential Coup d'etat. That is his MO. So when he said today that Sotomaor would have to fall on her face not to get the confirmation of the Senate. That might well have been his way - in a few days time of setting the stage for the claim that she fell on her face. I don't trust that little worm any farther than I could throw him.

1. We have more votes than they do.
I couldn't care less what little Lindsey's MO is.

3. While I agree with your vote count
Its good to know the playbook. We'll see it again. Of course Lindsey learned this little trick at the hands of its master, Senator Arlen Specter.

4. On paper we have the 60 to beat their filibuster, but we might need some serious
knocking together of heads to keep them. Pryor, Lincoln, Nelson, Lieberman, even Specter could join the filibuster (not all of these, but just one would do it). I say the two Arkansas senators because of the fundamentalist influence.

2. Remember that reference to "if it's nothing more than Motel 6." He came away saying it was
and worth impeachment.
