"If she was a nice lady who had a brain and some charm, she'd own America right now. "

- BartCop's response to a Sarah Palin supporter.

I fully agree...

Who would I pick?
  • Helen Thomas
  • Madeline Albright (regrettably, not American-born, thus not eligible)
  • Janet Reno (not sure how she does in the charm dept, and she does has her share of detractors)
  • Sandra Day O'Connor (but regrettably, likely not available)
  • Carol Shea-Porter (D Rep-NH)
  • Michele Bachmann (R-MN - Just joking - seeing if you were paying attention)
  • Al Franken's wife - don't know her, but I bet she's smart
  • Barack Obama's wife - getting to know her
  • Hillary Clinton - You know her.
  • Barbara Boxer (D-CA) - Some may argue, but she was one of the few who stood up and spoke out.
  • Eleanor Holmes Norton (non-Voting, DC) - I bet she's got something to say
  • Naomi Klein
  • Penelope Cruz - just because. Probably not eligible and maybe not any good, but hell...

    I'm sure you've got others...

    2. The scary thing is that when she's giving a speech scripted by others . . .
And when she's not doing the pull-the-wings-off-a-butterffly mean sections of said speeches, she is kind of charming. Or maybe it was a just her standing next to John McCain that made her seem so. When she was off on her own on the campaign trail, and beginning to extemporize her prepared remarks, her charm dropped to zero.

And she's got a brain, of sorts. She's no moron, although she is clearly a fool. Kinda like GWB.

But her higher ambitions are doomed because it only takes a few days of exposure to her to realize what a mean, shallow, opportunist she is, and someone you wouldn't want within a lightyear of national office. Heck, Alaskans are finally getting it that putting her in State office was a bad idea.
