1. Fantastic. Summarizes the situation accurately.
I especially like the attention to the bs policy of insurers on their applications demanidng to know every single interaction with every single health provider over the last 10 years and if you forget something, then it is cause for recission whether or not it had anything to do with any health issue at hand.

Wht they don't mention is that they ALREADY know every health interaction you have had, since those records are available to them - how do you think they find out about the omitted information in the first place?

We HAVE to get rid of prior conditions before we get rid of ANYTHING else. Your health insurance application should have: your name, your address, your phone number and your SS# and THAT IS IT!!!!

3. HIPA - not for them
The HIPA law prohibits any discussion or identification regarding medical issues.
But that's just for nurses and health care workers - not insurance companies.
Can you imagine how wonderful things could be if we could only rein in financials powerhouses and insurance firms?

6. Love Tom Tomorrow! Be sure to buy his books, folks!
You WON'T find them in your friendly local corporate bookstore -- have to order from Powell's:

7. Love it--but the ref to Adam Smith's "invisible hand" is
perhaps too obscure for many readers.

he's a done a few with the hand; that's why he says "Will you please shut up about that".
