We have a right wing activist SCOTUS, so of course the pukes on the JC |
are invested in maintaining that and though they know that Sotomayor is sure to confirmed and that she's replacing someone who fell on the liberal side of the Court, they're determinedly and methodically laying the foundation for opposing an Obama SC nominee who may replace someone on the right side of the divide- and it's not unlikely that Obama will have that opportunity. If he serves 8 years, he may have the chance to nominate several more justices.

1. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, the ones he would be most likely to replace |
would be the liberals on the court. Wish he could replace Scalia

2. yes, he'll certainly replace Stevens and almost certainly replace Ginsberg |
but he may well get the opportunity to replace Kennedy and even Scalia.

3. Kennedy is the one that flops back and forth. |

4. At this point, the GOP is merely fundraising |
they'll drop a few bombs to rile up their base and get a few donations. Whatever.
