5. Good question.
I don't think so. I have no faith that is strong enough to do something of that magnitude.
Now, if you asked if I would die for my kids or my family--to be sure. But my luck is that I would save 100 starkraving mad batshit freepers.

18. Nope.

As an atheist, I believe I only get to "go 'round" once. I'm going to hang on to life as long as I possibly can, because this is all there is.

The sole exception would be if it would save the lives of my wife and/or children.

But I'm selfish. Strangers' lives don't mean as much to me as my own does. I'm funny that way.

19. No, not ever.
And I will explain why, it makes the assumption of a premise, and those type of premises are used by evil to trick people into self destruction.

I would stand in front of 100 people, but evil would have to do any harm, if it thinks it could, or some how was allowed to. I would not do harm to self, nor to anyone else.

Most of suicide is delusions creating despair, because people have free will, so the attempt by evil is to get them to self destruct, through fear or false deals.

And here is the proof, if someone tells you that suicide with save 100 lives, he is already evil, so why would you believe that he would spare the 100 lives anyway? It is a broken argument on that alone.

Never commit suicide, it is a long term solution for a short term problem, and a person can make it through.

26. I would risk my life to save a single stranger
but not commit certain suicide.

I already have run in front of oncoming traffic to save a runaway toddler, and missed getting hit by inches. The car came to rest against my shoulder-bag.

And I jumped into a rollaway truck that I thought was going to roll backwards off a small ledge to save the owner in the tractor who forgot to block the truck while he was unloading the tractor off its trailer.

27. Number is way too low. Give me a statistically significant number, such as the number of people...
...who die daily from preventable causes. The tens of thousands of starving children.

And they have to have a normal life expectancy.

Otherwise it's a pointless exercise.

I'd spend my life in an instant to protect my family, my students.

I'm not willing to "commit suicide."

I'm not willing to spend my life for those I consider unworthy of that cost.

Palin, for example. The mother of my grandson, for another.

34. No. Letting them expire would mean 100 less mouths to feed, 100 less
carbon footprints, and might even allow their wealth to be redistributed.

Given those realities, I believe that saving myself would be most beneficial to the population at large.
