Gavin Newsom conference call this Thursday, July 16, at 5:30 p.m. PT
Gavin Newsom wants to talk with you.

California stands at a crossroads. Our economy is in tatters and state government is blocked from solving the budget mess by structural barriers and Republican obstruction.

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom is running for Governor and hoping to chart the course of California's future, starting in 2011. As mayor of one of the state's largest cities, Mayor Newsom has played a leading role in the fight for marriage equality, worked to implement health care reform, and grappled with some of the same budget challenges now facing the state.

Like Attorney General Jerry Brown, who joined our community for a Courage Campaign Conversation conference call in March, Mayor Newsom is in a unique position to discuss the challenges that face California and how we can solve them.

That's why we've invited Mayor Newsom to talk exclusively with you on a special "Courage Campaign Conversation" statewide conference call this Thursday, July 16, at 5:30 p.m. PT. We have a limited number of lines available, so please click here to RSVP for the call and consider submitting a question online:

The Courage Campaign does not endorse candidates and will not be making an endorsement in the gubernatorial campaign. Instead our role is to help members like you engage California's elected leaders and hold them accountable when necessary.

Since 2007, numerous Courage Campaign Conversations have been held with several progressive leaders engaging in no-holds-barred dialogue with our community. Guests have included current Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, Senate President Pro-Tem Darrell Steinberg, Assembly Speaker Karen Bass as well as Arianna Huffington and Markos Moulitsas.

As usual, we'll be taking a mix of live questions as well as questions submitted online for this special "Courage Campaign Conversation" with Mayor Newsom on Thursday, July 16, at 5:30 p.m. PT. No question is off limits but lines are limited, so please click here to RSVP now:

We are looking forward to joining you and Mayor Newsom on Thursday night for an enlightening and spirited discussion on the issues facing Californians.

Rick Jacobs
Chair, Courage Campaign

P.S. Hosting these special statewide calls can be quite expensive. Can you help us cover the cost of this call with Gavin Newsom? If you can contribute $10, $25 or $50, that will help us defray the cost of this special Courage Campaign Conversation:
