Poll question: How Long Will You Support the AfPak War?
The AfPak is escalating and expanding. The war against the Taliban is ramping up. The Taliban is the new Al-Qaeda, the boogeyman that any person with a gun opposing US occupation can be labeled.

How much longer are you willing to support the AfPak war?

This poll uses years as the unit of measure. But, it could be done with billions of dollars(to pay corporations, fly drones and to build an uber-embassy in Pakistan). Or it could be in US and Afgani lives. The number of US lives lost has increased every year. We lost 294 in 2008, and have lost 199 this year so far, another record pace.

2. TPTB have decreed that we will be there for a long, looooong time.
"Who cares what you think"?

The only choice you have today is whether you will continue to pay for it.

3. I supported this war in September of 2001, and I support it today
Winning will be wiping out the influence of the Taliban and capturing or killing the remainder of the Al Queda leadership.

7. boxcutters crippled NORAD and our national defense?
It was the Dick and George Show. Why do people accept that Dick and George are evil, but cannot grasp that they would have done this to futher their goals?

Fucking sad and tragically naive if you think we can do either of those things with blunt force.

6. What a stupid bias poll. The Afpak war?
You can support the war in Afghanistan without supporting intervention in Pakistan and we are most certainly not fighting in pakistan except for a couple of predator drone strikes, the Pakistani army themselves is doing that.

15. Keep telling yourself that.
We are building an embassy in Pakistan as big as the city-embassy we built in Iraq. Why do you think that is?

We have already had US soldiers cross, on foot, in to Pakistan. We carry out regular bombings there. We are fighting the same 'Taliban' there. It is an AfPak War. You are fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

achieve that couldn't have been achieved between 2002 and now?

And, this little stab at neo-colonialism isn't about to change my mind.

I do support public works projects so, for instance, bridges don't fall into rivers during rush hour traffic. Stuff like that.

23. I stopped supporting this war shortly after it started
when it became clear that we were not out to capture the bin laden gang, that we were systematically mistreating prisoners, and that the same thugs, or their direct ideological descendants, who got us into vietnam, were back and doing their bullshit act again.
