My rallying cry for Contact Reid/Baucus day. July 22, 2009.

This is about putting our shoulders to the wheel in support of President Obama and the progressive Democrats in the Senate who want a complete health care overhaul, not some fake overhaul that is merely doing the bidding of drug companies and insurance giants.

Since both are leaders in the Senate battle for healthcare reform, there is nothing wrong with people from all over the United States letting them feel a little bit of what 70+% of Americans wanting universal healthcare with public option feels like.

I am hoping to get some support behind this effort, and I need some help from others who are members on other blogs and grass roots Democratic/progressive

sites. If any of you are able to post on HuffingtonPost, DailyKos, etc. please help me to communicate that I am organizing a "Call/fax/email Harry Reid and

Max Baucus Day" for Wednesday, July 22, 2009.

Other than Daily Kos and Huffington Post, which progressive sites and organizations would you say are the best to reach based on sheer numbers of viewers?

Second, who here has experience with press release type of communication. I want to send something to news outlets very soon.

My plan is to send something later today that includes the contact information of both Senator Reid and Senator Baucus for use on July 22. Obviously, if you feel like calling them before that it is up to you, but I'm hoping to get concentrated effort on that day.

I will then provide DU some updates on progress I and others make in publicizing our efforts.
