6. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that Reagan "lip-synched" or "dubbed" the role of prez
An acting role normally involves actually UNDERSTANDING the character you play and the meaning of the lines you speak. You have to know the subtext and understand the motivation, and you often have to do a lot of research about the character.

Anyone think ANY of that applies to what Reagan did from 1981 to 1989?

Unless there's more context to this, it's common for someone to be said to be "playing the role" of something.

"playing the role of a Judge" as well, right? Or, surely she said Graham was "playing the role of a Senator" too given the expression is so "common".
