Meghan McCain: "Joe the Plumber -- You Can Quote Me -- Is A Dumbass"
Edited on Wed Jul-15-09 04:44 PM by Richardo
 http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/15/meghan-mccain-joe-the-plu_n_234162.html

In an interview with OUT magazine, Meghan McCain spoke freely on her support for gay marriage -- and her dislike of some conservative mouthpieces.

Unprompted, McCain rails against the man her father's presidential campaign touted as an American everyman and made a showpiece in the weeks before the election. "Joe the Plumber -- you can quote me -- is a dumbass. He should stick to plumbing."
McCain also said she'd "be flattered to be considered the anti-Ann Coulter, the anti-Rush Limbaugh."

Author James Kirchick added in a blog post that there's still one controversial campaign figure McCain won't discuss:

Interestingly, while McCain is more than happy to bash the man whom her father celebrated for weeks on end, the one part of the campaign McCain will not talk about is Sarah Palin.

:patriot:

25. I originally typed "She's a dumbass too" but thought that this original post was unfair to her.
As she sometimes says things that are quite right.

11. I can't take her too seriously, but I like that she has a take and she's not afraid to speak
...plus, she really does have some ideas on how to improve the GOP. The old crackers that make up the base won't listen to it, though. Lucky for us.

14. Eventually she will be the old woman and the previous base and leaders will be long dead.
Edited on Wed Jul-15-09 05:24 PM by YOY
She'll eventually inherit the party.

She of course could grow more neo-conish with time...or she could bring the balance back...somewhat.

7. A moderate?
I dunno, I find that kinda refreshing coming from a Republican, besides, I think she's cute. And also, kinda refreshing that she leaves Palin out of things, like Palin isn't even there,(which she isn't, at least upstairs)

16. What exactly is it the young Miss McCain likes about the republican party again?
Is she one of those socially liberal fiscal conservatives? And aren't those called libertarians?

He's a professional breed of do-nothing who talks a big game but in the end would amount to nothing if there was no camera on him. Their goal is to become rich (like your family) by following lockstep with your party. Sad but your base is full of them.

She could copy everything the other Republicans think, but she's still trying to figure out what she believes in. Good for her.

23. She's a dumbass as well...
In all her interviews, I've never seen her explain WHY she's a Republican. She's socially liberal, that's for sure, so one can only surmise she's a fiscal conservative, but then she says she doesn't "understand" the economy. Stupid as can be.

This way, we can devote our energy to implementing our agenda and let them devour each other.

because she refuses to realize that even though the Republican Party needs saving, the party doesn't think so.

32. Its easy to take on a yokel like Sam Wurzelbacher
When Megan McCain starts to talk about Palin, Coburn, Jindal, Ensign, Steele, Brownback et al and the phenomenon that has enabled half wits and bigots like them to be leaders of the GOP, then I'll take her seriously.

33. Meghan is smart enough to know she doesn't know some things
and should admit it as she did to Rachel Maddow on the economy.

Joe the Plumber (and Sarah Palin) are the types who don't know anything but feel they do or at least spout off on things they know nothing about.

34. Except that when she knows she won't be challeneged, she pretends that she DOES know about the
economy.

The day after her interview with Rachel, she went on Fox and Friends and went on and on about how Obama was ruining the economy etc.
