"Annoy a liberal. Work Succeed."
That was posted on a marquee for a beef jerky business in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. www.beefbark.com

He had posted a blatantly anti-Obama message on his marquee a few weeks ago, so I went to his website and told him that he lost my business. The title of this thread is his response. Pretty stupid, if you ask me. I wasn't annoyed; I just make it a point to not support businesses who publicize political beliefs that I don't agree with.

Thank God we only live here because of the military. As soon as my husband retires, we're moving to someplace more progressive.

I just wanted to share this with people who would understand.

34. I think that he meant that his job was done
He "annoyed a liberal," so he succeeded at his work. But I might be reading too much into it.

I've met the owner a couple of times. He's your typical backward NRA type, afraid that Obama is going to take his guns away.

3. Reminds me of the Grand Lake Theater Marquee which is liberal
Let them post. We can too and it's free speech and all that. Check out the photos of the Grand Lake Theater marquee. It's a wonderful restored old fashioned movie theater in Oakland, California. I've been there many times.

It's good for the soul- let it out. Don't walk around all pissed off.

14. I wasn't being critical of your OP! My remark was meant to be snark
Like saying "So what? Let them post!"

It was an excuse to insert the link to the Grand Lake Theater. It was always liberating to read their marquee, especially during the worst of the Bush Administration and their bullying tactics when anyone dared to question them.

7. The idea is that liberals don't work.
Bizarrely, I heard it used in Freepistan when some of them were arguing for secession. Others argued that the left needed the right, because the right does all the work, so the left wouldn't let them secede. Didn't make a lot of sense to me.

25. When it is actually Liberals who are responsible
for everything good in this country..but, they're too willfully ignorant to know it.

They just have to have something to feel good about themselves even if it's a lie.

And, they haven't made Liberal a dirty word..they may think they did but we took it back.

No, I didn't mention that. It doesn't matter. I'm just laughing at his horrible grammar, as well as the fact that he thinks he's annoyed me.

Unless I wasn't the only liberal to complain. In which case, I'm laughing that he's losing even more business over his stupidity.

15. If the shop wasn't so small, I'd do it
You can only fit about three customers into the store, although they did open a second location along I-80. It would be interesting to do it there, if they even get customers at that location. That outlet mall is pretty dead most of the time, which is probably how they can afford the rent.

18. I doubt it
To give him a tiny amount of credit, he has posted pro-military messages in the past. But none since President Obama took office.

He's probably just another one of those conservatives who thinks that posting "support our troops" on a marquee is the same as actually supporting our troops.

33. If I see someone like that..

I just say...

I work, I succeed and I'm Liberal. How does this work again?

They call us Liberals arrogant and elitist, but it's funny they have their own arrogance in that they have 'better work ethic' are 'more moral' and such. It's just like the PC shit, they get worked up over Liberal PC, but are as oppressive with their own PC ediface (typically revolving around nationalism and jingoism).
