How much damage has the CIA done to our national security...
In the name of National Security of the decades...?

I think it is time to chop this agency up and scatter it apart. It seems to of become a entity operating outside of the law and any reasonable control.

I think Congress should defund the agency....Obama break up the various parts and move them into places where they can be controlled properly.

I am sure we all could come up with things the CIA has done over the past three decades that have done nothing but damage U.S. image and play into the hands of greedy power brokers.

Enough is enough.

2. BINGO. The CIA has a lot of good, decent people. That's why Cheney had to lean on them
and GWBush blamed the 'intelligence failure' on them rather than the Office of Special Plans he created to circumvent the CIA, which was to 'liberal' for him.

3. Hasn't DHS made CIA obsolete, anyway?
The whole purpose (officially) of the CIA was to create a clearinghouse for national intelligence matters. Before the CIA, there were a great many small intelligence departments (as opposed to departments of small intelligence) which did not coordinate with each other. The CIA was supposed to put them under one roof.

It never did. It just became one more player, and one with a HUGE budget.

Now, DHS is supposed to do the same thing - be the coordinator for all intelligence matters. That makes the CIA redundant.

Break it up. Give its signal intelligence to the NSA, its foreign field operatives to the DIA and its in-country operations (which of course don't exist) to the FBI.

We don't need them fucking us up anymore.

(As a SINGLE instance - without the CIA intervention, Iran would be a West-friendly democracy for the past 50 years - no Shah, no Khomeini, no Iran hostages, no Iran/Iraq war, no supporting Saddam in that war, no overthhrowing Saddam. The ENTIRE middle-east equation would be different.) (And THEN there's Central America.)
