Gossip: Mr & Mrs Ex-CUOMO for Guv and LT Guv?!1
from the oldest person named "Cindy" in the world:

ALBANY CIRCUS MAY GET NEW ACT

TODAY'S junk de jour out of Albany. You won't believe this. I don't believe this. But believe this. Power-players in our powerless capital are hearing -- ready? -- that Kerry Kennedy might like to glom onto being our next -- should and if this state ever have any top official who is really nominated and elected legally -- lieutenant governor.

In case you just moved to these parts and aren't here even long enough to get your first welfare check, let me reprise Kerry Kennedy's New York history. She lives in Westchester. She's Andrew Cuomo's former previous ex-wife with whom he has three glorious children and many lousy memories. We know our attorney general Andrew is itchy to be governor. We know formidable Kerry, one of Bobby Kennedy's kids, is a scrapper, human activist, lawyer, author, person so outspoken and Out There that, introducing her husband at one rally, she spent longer talking about her family than she did about him. I know because I was there sitting right next to his dad, Gov. Mario Cuomo.

With Ted phasing out, the Kennedys are eager to get more Kennedys out in front. Remember the hustle for Caroline? Well, say the Albany power-players, it's possible they might be encouraging her. And since she has no enormous adoration for Andrew anymore, her possible push could possibly push him, for sure, out of even remotely contemplating a topple of David Paterson. I mean, Mr. Cuomo wanting to be governor while the ex-Mrs. Cuomo wants to be lieutenant governor? Daddy running against Mommy? Not even in Wacko Albany, where Homer Simpson makes more sense.

THE PROBLEM WITH A DISCLAIMER is its coming off as defensive, especially when it's preemptive. Trouble is, it's damned if do/don't: NOT including it first results in the predictable problems.

DISCLAIMER re: linking to the NY Post (for to head-off highly predictable, OT/hijacking posts):: Yes, it is a RAG. Yes, it is owned by NewsCorp/Faux's MURDOCH. No, he doesn't Dictaphone content to his gossip columnists. No, "gossip" does NOT equate to "UNtruth" (OR with "triviality" for that matter). These old time gossipers are more journalistically reliable than Tweety and such ilk. Frequently, political tidbits are here first, later to show up in more "respectable" venues. Keep friends close, enemies closer. Cherrypicking intel results in self-fulfilling FALSENESS. I got hooked on these gossipers when they were on the
E!1 network and, when they were cancelled, tracked them down and they happened to be at THE RAG (NY Post). ALL I read at THE RAG are the gossip and the horoscope. On Edit: If this disclaimer is NOT ENOUGH, if you don't like this o.p., PLEASE just click OUT without leaving your any-further-a(doo-doo)!1

1. Hahahaha!!! CINDY!!!
Wait till all the Britneys start filling the nursing homes!

"Cindy" often has her facts in order. People who get overly angry at the "agenda" of a gossip columnist are usually personally invested (either in reality or in their imaginations) in the person being skewered.

What is it with NY and governors of late? I think Andrew's FATHER oughta take the gig for one more go-round. He did a good job. Can't hurt!

Yip, as people have said here over the years, 1) Gossip is a big deal in NYC, 2) Cindy swims the cocktail circuit on both sides.

And I agree with YOU, MADem, that the Defensives are usually fans-partisans of the item's targets and just blindly lash out.

One of Cindy's trademarks is to constantly blow her own trumpet about having told us this-or-that MONTHS before it really did come to pass.

"former previous ex-wife"

Oh really, Cindy? She's Cuomo's former previous ex-wife? Does that mean they got remarried? :eyes:

6. HaHAH, I thought about blurbing about "Beware of tortuous sentence construction..."
But it's her STYLE: Run-on sentences that give a "breathless" quality.

She's quite the stylist.

The pre-divorce and divorce were quite acrimonious.

7. Well, Cindy's not saying they would be running as a TEAM. Actually, isn't she saying
that Kerry's running would derail Andrew's?
