What really pisses me off about this hearing.
It's not the fact that they ask her ad nauseum about the same cases or speeches. That just makes it look like they have Alzheimer's.

It's not the fact that they disagree with her. I expect they would disagree with Father Coughlin if Rush said to.

It's not even the fact that they have looked at everything even remotely connected to her to ask about. They wouldn't want anyone looking at what they said in the last week much less 17+ years.

Don't get me wrong. This crap does piss me off.

What sends me off the rails is how EFFING DISRESPECTFUL THEY ARE!!!

I don't care what hearing is being held or who is being questioned. They deserve common courtesy. Those morans were elected and not anointed. They can get their point across without acting like uneducated, tacky, trashy, turnip-headed nimnols. Or they can pretend they aren't anyway.

She is a distinguished jurist and deserves to be treated with common courtesy at the least. They are just common.

You can get as much done by acting like you have some sense and not rabies. You can also cut somebody off at the knees if you want to with politesse. In Charleston SC, there is a term used for how they handle things they consider unsuitable. They will "polite you to death." It is very effective.

I don't know how Judge Sotomayor has kept from slapping all of them into next week. Her Mama raised her right!

1. They'd NEVER disagree with Father Coughlin ... an epitome of right-wing sympathy.
Father Coughlin was an apologist for Hitler, fascism, and far right ideologies.

2. I've seen even my racist relatives at least respect my STBX's accomplishment in
education business. These clowns can't even muster that; the sexism and racism just oozes out of them like perspiration.

You'd think that the Southern ones could at least manage that, but no...

4. They have outdone themselves
in this regard. I know they know better. Graham does, but he acts like he was a feral child. Even wolves would have raised him with better manners.
I know one thing. Graham may make points with TB (the base), but he has lost some with other Rethugs. They don't like tacky.

5. It proves she's going to be a great SCOTUS Justice.
She's a better person than all of us for maintaining her composure and not fucking garrotting Tom Coburn with piano wire for his Ricky Ricardo impression, or just shooting Jeff Sessions in his horrible, pasty, fucking racist face.

It's about goddamn time someone did.

Great way to put it.

I was expecting Beauregard and Lindsey to show up in hoods and robes this morning. Their racist, sexist, nastiness was amusing in an odd sort of way, i.e., they were making normal people disgusted with them and they didn't seem to realize it or care.

I can't take it anymore, ENOUGH. I truly admire Sotomayor for being able to handle their bullshit with grace.

I was listening to Spector's questioning on the radio yesterday while driving home and had to turn it off before I drove off the road. He was so rude - kept talking to her like a teacher talking to a kid who hadn't read the assignment

10. They not only have dropped their % of the Hispanic vote,
but they also have probably riled up some other minorities. All you see is a bunch of white-haired Caucasian men acting like twits. Any minority would have to wonder about running that gauntlet of trash.

13. I'm starting to believe they are deliberately trying to get her to lose her cool.....
so they can beat that to death like they have the "wise Latina" remark.

Sotomayor should get a metal for what she has put up with from these fools.
