The Big Picture - Remembering Apollo 11
Have a bunch of great photos of the Apollo 11 mission, which left the Earth's surface forty years ago today.

2. Here is a great one for the "moon was faked" loons.

The LRRR. There are 4 of them exactly where NASA landed humans on the moon.
They were put there by Apollo 11, 12, 14 & 15.
Apollo 13 carried one also but due to the emergency abort it never landed on the moon.

The light has been detected by dozens of observatories around the planet.

It has been shining for 40 years because it needs to power source and has no moving parts. They could last longer than the human race given the odds that all 4 (placed hundreds of miles apart) would all be destroyed or misaligned by some sort of natural event is extremely small.

If we wipe ourselves out maybe some advanced civilization will find our primative junk on the moon still winking away thousands of years from now.

Of course this one is cool for a whole different reason.
The whole world watched the landing and it wasn't just an American accomplishment. We were a little bit closer for a few minutes that summer in 1969.

4. We'll see how that goes. ;)
No reply to you in that other thread yet, but I can guess what they may say:

"Ok, those made it to the moon, but that doesn't mean humans did!"
"Aliens put'em there!"

5. Thank you so much.
I just spent the last 20 minutes carefully looking at each and every one. I saw it live on tv and I still have a polaroid that my dad shot directly off the tv set. I appreciate you posting this. It was a very big deal to me back then. I was 12.
