California Sees Red
Posted on Jul 15, 2009

Looks like Republicans are going to win out in California’s seemingly endless budget battle, despite holding a minority in the state Legislature. The deal lawmakers are inching toward favors Gov. Schwarzenegger’s desire to make the poor, the elderly and schoolchildren pay for the state’s financial crisis.

San Jose Mercury News:

SACRAMENTO — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and legislative leaders say they’re nearing a deal to close the state’s $26.3 billion deficit. And despite California’s left-leaning electorate, the final product is almost certain to be settled on Republican terms, with deep spending cuts to most state programs and no new taxes.

The state’s budget rules require the approval of a two-thirds majority, allowing the Republican minority to dictate terms.

It doesn’t help that the Golden State is desperate. California, which already has the worst credit rating in the nation, has issued millions in IOUs.

2. The "Workfair" program was 1 of the big loosers
and from seeing the majority of the effects of the program it needs to be cut.

Crack-head welfare recipients move to the remote mountainous areas as to be outside the milage zones of maditory participation. Others fill meaningless made up state jobs with half-hearted attempts of "clock watching"

I would really like to see some statistics of true success stories, but from seeing the "Gains Program" effects so far I have no quams with it being cut to the bone

6. Well you must not live in California
California’s National Forest have become a battle ground. Personal friends have been killed over Pot gardens. Each time the local authorities have ruled it a “suicide” rather then waste money and effort in solving the crime.

This is the extent that welfare recipients have permeated the mountainous regions of the California’s Sierra National forest system. The MAIN REASON, to avoid mandatory participation in the GAINs program. Welfare recipients are excluded from mandatory participation if they live more then 30 miles from the nearest Welfare office.

Trailer rents are cheap up there and Pot Gardens are abundant. Main problem is so are Meth Labs.

DEA rolls through with the “Sniffer Van” (Van equipped with PPM sensing gas sniffers) once or twice a year looking for the clandestine labs. This has only pushed the Meth making labs deeper into the forest.

As they say in Humbolt County – the forest is so thick here, 50’ off the road they well never find the body

 The MAJORITY of you all did indeed vote for this shit so buck up and accept it. I would feel the same about America in general for the last eight years but the MAJORITY did NOT vote for what we got.
