I now think the Iranian government is going down
When the street uprisings first began in Tehran, there was no guessing how it was going to turn out. Now, I would be willing to say that there are too many forces working against the regime to survive. It's far too late for a peaceful transition. It will end either with a massive revolt that ends the entire power structure as we know it, or with Khomanei living in Paris and Ahmadinejad's laid to rest on the side of the road.

1. We'll see.
I thought the protests had been effectively squashed. They are renewed now. I still don't know what will happen. But, the regime has shown its willingness to use violence to end the protests, so I expect more of that, sadly.

2. A significant milestone is coming up
The end of the 40-day period of mourning for the first protesters that were killed.

5. Oh, no, they have not been suppressed.
The Iranian government and Basiji did turn down the volume a lot, but couldn't quash it completely. And now that they sense opportunity, it's exploding all over again.

MARG BAR DICTATOR!!! DEATH TO THE DICTATOR!!!

or to use a more Western saying,

SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS!!!

3. Hopefully, but I wonder what is going to be "going up" in its place. It ain't Mousavi or Rafsanjani.
Or if it is, it won't be for long. Rafsanjani is only in this to make more money off his pistachio business. He and Mousavi only want to join the neoliberal game and that's not exactly what the people are fighting for in the streets. They want political freedoms AND an end to economic crisis. The Iranian people are fed up and I personally think its going to be Ahmedinajad's repression or an entirely new revolution or, god forbid, the damn monarchists abroad try to bring in the Shah's son (Shah 2.0). It could be Mousavi and Rafsanjani for awhile, but I don't think people powerful enough to cause a revolution will stand for these two jokers for very long.

4. Dunno - we'll see. I'm so glad the (in progress) revolution was twittered tho...
For it's personalization ability - despite the verification problems with it.

Hopefully that personalization that was felt by so many can more easily be applied to people everywhere in similar circumstances.

7. I don't think enough of the people are willing to die for the cause.
The govt will just shoot people until they stop protesting.
