Can there be NO middle ground?
I know, I know... the answer is "no". But I need to vent, so bear with me.

Can't someone criticize the President without being a "blind hater" who is "just mad that he isn't Dennis Kucinich"? Can we not criticize the guy when we see the need to?

Conversely, can't we EVER defend the guy in an argument without just being a "robot" who willingly "supplants him/herself" to the man we apparently worship as a God?

Is there NOTHING in between to the people here?

Can't I disagree with some of his actions without that meaning I want to watch him and this country fail? Can't I defend the actions I DO agree with without being a spineless follower that will do whatever the man tells me? Can't my and others opinions on the important matters of the day be more complex and nuanced than that?

Does everything have to over-dramatized to SUCH a ridiculous degree that we've come to the "your either for him, or against him" standard?

I'm well aware that this post itself is melodramatic, but for God's sake people, can't we at least look at the other persons opinion without our knee's jerking up like pistons?

We're all on the same damn side here. I'm not asking for smiley and wordless agreement with everything everyone else says, but is it too much to ask for at least a little consideration? There's a big difference between a discussion and just putting your fingers in your ears and screaming at each other.

11. LOL @ CommonSenseBot
It's a regularly repeating show, here, with purists arguing with rationalists, and the mediators trying to make peace.

Kind of like having a thanksgiving dinner with my family.

8. You assume we're all on the same side, but I'm not sure that's true...
I don't mind people bashing Obama if they're stating facts, but some posts include misinformation, half-truths, spin, and down right lies. These people want what they want (their own personal agendas), YESTERDAY. A little unreasonable, if you ask me.

10. Some can, and some can't.
Otherwise, it would not be "middle ground."

12. I think the overall environment has degraded to the point where it is very difficult to find
common ground. People know that they are not doing nearly as well as they once would have or should have and are justifiably angry. They want somebody to put their hopes into or to blame because what they do know for sure is that they are working too hard for too little for ungrateful slime that takes more than their share.

I can't even tell you how many people I know that work @ least 60 hours a week, more when it is asked, haven't seen an increase in wages to compensate for their additional efforts for years, are told constantly that they are just lucky to have a job, and haven't even been able take a fucking vacation for years.

It is bad and getting worse and I think most people recognize that they are being lied to, so they are "a little on edge".
