Yesterday I had a conversation with the blood bank |
I was connecting the blood bank with a friend who wanted to do a blood drive. Somehow the conversation turned to the little perks they give for donations, tshirts etc. The Blood center lady asked if I had anything I would like to see as a perk? I said I would really like access to their health care program (Large university hospital). She was kind of taken aback She asked me to explain further. I told her that with a $10,000 deductible, I will need to be on my death bed to go to a doctor. I suggested that perhaps having donors whose access to HC is limited is probably not a good idea. She was really surprised by my comments. She said she would bring it up.

1. $10k "deductible" = a "major medical" plan. |
Those aren't meant to be health care plans, just backstops.
