Grade your Governor,Senators,and Congressperson.
North Carolina:

Gov-I like Bev but she does not really come off as all that confident and scandals coming out about former Gov Easley does not help. I give her a C-.

Senators-I wish Kay was more liberal but I understand that this is NC so I let some stuff slide. I really think that she has been doing a great job so I give her a B+. I really don't like bank run Burr he brings shame to NC so I give him an F.

Congressman-I love Brad Miller he is a great rep who is smart and votes with the Dems almost always.I give him an A+.

1. Oh wow I am in Arizona
Governor Jan Brewer: If it was possible to come up with lower than an F- I would do it.

Senator Jon Kyl: F

Senator John McCain: D, not too bad on a few issues here and there.

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords: B

4. Can you believe Brewer?
It's shocking how quickly she went about running our state into the ground. A few months without Janet and things got ugly in a hurry.

Yeah Flake has some potential on a few issues here and there, I remember he ran afoul of some of the bigwigs like DeLay several years ago for not going lockstep on a few things. He's still way on the other side of the spectrum though, a pretty solid F there.

Gabi Giffords is pretty good. I like her well enough, she's no Raul Grijalva though. That guy is a great congressman.

5. Brewer is so dumb, she is fucking up the fuck ups of the republican legislator.
I don't even know what the hell she is. But she isn't a conservative. And she isn't a liberal.

She likes increasing regressive taxes during an economic depression. Was she hit over the head with a frying pan before taking the oath?

2. My governor, Jim Douglas gets a D-. The only reason he doesn't get an F
is because he isn't entirely awful on Environmental issues.

My Reps in Congress all get an A. Pat Leahy, Bernie Sanders and Peter Welch. My wonderful rep in the Statehouse gets an A. In fact, dems and progressives in the VT statehouse get an A.

7. Pennsylvania: Governor - Ed Rendell - F minus - he is totally interested
in his career and little else. He has screwed state workers yet again, cutting their pay 30% while he and the legislature play poltics with the overdue state budget. He is the scum of the earth.

Senators-Specter is mine-C- I believe he is trying to act like a conservative Democrat, and he seems to be voting the right way, but he is feeling heat from Joe Sestak and he may be on his last tour.

Congressman is Tim Holden-B- he is on a lot of infrastructure and transportation and energy committees and I believe he does a good job there, although he is pretty conservative as are most of the PA congresspeople. He does seem to be fairly honest, for a politician.

11. Sorry : He is Bob Casey, a Dem, a bit more conservative them many here would like,
but he has been pretty reliable on health care and some very basic Democratic issues..I am not too familiar with his overall record, so I have to give him a C.

Sorry, CC - need more coffee....right now.

Rec this thread.

9. I have the pleasure of living in SC.
Sanford - D----- The only reason he doesn't get an F is because he at least has provided some different entertainment.

Lindsey Graham - F - He acts like he was raised as a feral child with no manners.

Jim DeMint - F - I wish I could go a lot lower. This man is a loon.

James Clyburn - A - He and John Spratt are the only saving graces on the national scene.

Edited on Sat Jul-18-09 07:32 AM by rurallib
Harkin - A minus - usually one of the progrssive leaders behind Sanders and Feingold, but goes missing sometimes, especially on agriculture.
Governor Culver - C He has abandoned labor then come back. Backs some progressive legislation, dumps other. Kind of inconsistent.

also in my area we have congressmen Dave Loebsack and Bruce Braley - two of the better progressives.

Governor Henry, a democrat, probably a B-. He has done enough tax cuts to pander to conservatives, but he's about as democrat as a politician can be in this state and get elected.

Congressman Dan Boren, blue dog through and through... about a C- or D+, he votes with his more progressive colleagues frequently, but on many key issues (health care for instance) he's a shit.

Senators Coburn and Inhofe. FW... fucking worthless.

17. California
Gov - the Governator, Ahnuld. What can I say....?

Sen. Di Fi - fake Democrat

Sen. Barbara Boxer - OK, but very much an insider and champion of the status quo

Rep. Darrell Issa - ex car thief and Repuke toady

Not a very pretty picture.... I'd give it a D+ (would be F but for Boxer)

I agree but I give Boxer a much higher grade. She's actually progressive as far as environmental issues and children's issues are concerned.

But Ahnold is disgusting and he's hurting this state so badly that it'll take years to recover everything he's done away with, including jobs. And before anyone gets snarky I didn't vote for him. I voted against the recall, and I've voted against everything in his special elections. He should tax his rich friends and his buddies in the corporate world if he wants money.

Edited on Sat Jul-18-09 08:47 AM by Proud Liberal Dem
House: Dan Burton (R) :puke: Remember him shooting watermelons to "prove" that Vince Foster was murdered? What a loon! Unfortunately, he's going to keep winning (somehow) until he retires. :eyes: F-

Governor:Former Bush budget director Mitch Daniels (R) :puke: He "fixed" our welfare system by selling it out to cronies of his family services secretary proving that fully subscribes to the Bush/Cheney method of government. :eyes: I (reluctantly) give him some credit for helping direct some more money to child services. F+

Senator: Evan Bayh (*D*) :puke: Well, everybody here knows about him :eyes: D-ino
Richard Lugar (R): I have to admit that I respect him a lot even though he is Republican/conservative. He is one of the few
sensible Republicans who can be genuinely bipartisan He loses points because he's a Republican but I've voted for him in the past so.......? C+

Don't get me started on my local representatives :eyes:

Martin O'Malley(D) I give him a B he's a hell of a lot better than Erlich but all govs are struggling right now. He managed to work out a deal to reduce the usage of MD's death penalty.

Senators - Mikulski(D) A+ I love Mikulski she's very liberal and has been Maryland's Senator for a long time.

Cardin(D) B+ - I don't know much about Cardin but his questions at the Sotomayor hearings seemed well informed and thoughtful.

Congressman- I just moved to Baltimore so I don't know my new congressman very well so I'm going to rate my old congressman

Roscoe Bartlett(R) - F This guy is a scientist and old as dirt. He was ahead of the curve acknowledging global warming exists among the republicans but when he was asked about it by my high school biology teacher he said "Global Warming might be a good thing" (he referenced people living in a cold South American country I forget which one)

22. Gov. Strickland...C-, but the Repugs have a stranglehold on the state senate.
Sen. Sherrod Brown(D)- A+. This guy is the real deal, and no one outside of Ohio knows it.

Sen. George Voinovich(R)- F-. This guy retired on active duty last year and has done NADA for this state as a senator, after blowing Bush for eight years. Nothing more than a useful tool of the wealthy his entire political career. I despise him.

Rep. Betty Sutton(D)- B- to B. Needs to be a little more assertive, but is a progressive democrat, and never votes against the party.
