RimJob's manifesto for after the "revolution". Some snippets.

They used to call it a "Napoleonic complex".

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2295624/posts

Therefore, We the People of America choose to exercise our right to throw off and alter the abusive government by peacefully recalling and removing from office the President of the United States, the Vice President of the United States and all U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives effective immediately.

An interim provisional Chief Executive and congressional representatives will be established as follows:

The Secretary of State shall immediately assume the office of interim Chief Executive. The Chief Executive shall appoint and the interim Senate shall confirm an interim Vice President.

An immediate election shall be held within each state legislature to appoint two interim senators to represent each sovereign state.

A special election shall be held by all states within 30 days to elect interim members of the House of Representatives.

Elections for regular government offices shall be conducted in November, 2010 as previously scheduled, except that elections will be held for all elective offices, including President, Vice President and all U.S. Representatives. U.S. Senators will be elected per class schedule by the various state legislatures.

Ownership and responsibility for all federally held buildings, lands, parks, waterways, oceans, seas, etc, other than those in Washington, D.C. or military bases, forts, reservations, or local federal buildings owned by valid constitutional federal departments (see schedule) are hereby transferred to the sovereign state governments within which they reside or are located.

Responsibility for all natural resources found within any of the various states or within lands, oceans, lakes, rivers, waterways, seas out through our international boundary limits are hereby returned to the various states. All laws for mining, drilling, logging, or otherwise capitalizing on any minerals or natural resources are to be determined by the various states within which said resources are found.

Our first unalienable right is the right to life. Protecting Life and Liberty shall be of paramount importance to our central government. Roe v Wade and all congressional acts, regulations, court opinions allowing legalized abortion or the taking of innocent human life are hereby rescinded, overruled, repealed, nullified and voided. Life is fully protected by the U.S. Government.

This concept is an entirely peaceful altering of our despotic government per our unalienable right and duty. No where do I call for violence. The only force I call for is the force of numbers. We need millions of our citizens to sign on to this petition and execute its provisions. Will require millions to march on D.C. to block the government's ability to do business as usual. This is our right and duty as Americans.

34. After I stopped laughing and cleaned the coffee off my monitor...
The seriousness of this set in. As loony as they seem, FR does not represent a fringe group. They are the core constituency of the GOP, and have many powerful members from within our government and the private sector.

And their leader is openly advocating a coup d'etat against our president. Sure, he throws in a disclaimer about "not calling for violence" to keep the men in suits and dark glasses off his doorstep. (Note that he does not say he opposes violent overthrow, just that he doesn't explicitly "call for it".)

This is a watershed of sorts. As much as the GOP has demonstrated their contempt for democracy and become increasingly brazen in their undermining of our civic freedoms and institutions, they have always paid lip service to the ideals of democracy and the "sanctity" of our political system.

Now FR is officially sanctioning the overthrow of our government. Add to this a number of other alarming trends, like Jim DeMint's open support for the coup in Honduras, Cheney's secret spy programs being run without the knowledge or approval of Panetta and presumably Obama, the appearance that the State Department seems to be supporting the Honduran coup despite the president's opposition (see the Guardian UK article from the other day), calling into question who is really running our foreign policy.

I see two things here that disturb me:

1. Leading Republicans are softening up their followers to the idea of a coup and testing out their talking points on the public.
2. Critical parts of our intelligence and foreign-policy apparatus appear to be beyond the control or resistant to the control of our president. If this is true, then whoever is running these operations could turn them against the president.

Why does Rimmy want the Sec of State to take over? Maybe because HRC is involved in The Family, he thinks she would cooperate. Who knows...

I just know that this really concerns me.

46. Do I think 9/12 will be anything more than a bloody circus? Doubt it.
But I see something nasty and dangerous growing. Maybe I'm just a crank, but look at all the "unthinkable" things that have come to pass under the neocons: Stolen elections, war under false pretenses, torture as official policy, warrantless spying on Americans, political prosecutions, abandonment of Habeas Corpus, not to mention the ongoing revelations of death squads and rogue spy agencies. And this is just what has been confirmed in the press.

My point is that these guys will do anything. They have proved that they will willingly violate any civic, moral, ethical, or criminal constraint, without shame or hesitation. To claim that they would never try for an overthrow is just absurd at this point.

A second point I would like to make is that none of the above revelations were a surprise to anyone who had been paying attention. For example, neocon surrogates were making the rounds soon after 9/11 making a "hypothetical" case for the justification of torture. We now know that they were actually doing it at that time. They drop hints.

Can the RimJob army overthrow our government? Of course not. They can't even walk up the Capitol steps without their inhalers. But having the appearance of a popular movement to oust the president could provide a convenient cover for those who can. Add to this all the birther crap being still being spewed by various RW commentators. This provides an argument to claim that the Obama admin is not legitimate, and thus provide a justification for an action. They don't need a logical argument, they just need an argument.

Again, do I really think it's going to happen? Probably not. But I think it bears serious vigilance. Hell, if parts of the CIA are still following orders from Cheney, then you could make an argument that the coup has already happened.

49. And a prominent Freeper Birfer Goes Coup Coup over the media
Edited on Sat Jul-18-09 04:49 PM by WeDidIt
This is standard fair for any banana Republican coup, take out the media, and it's being suggested by one of the more prominent Birfers:

To: Jim Robinson
One thing we need to do is to stop this corrupt media. They are controlling the information that gets out. There have been no protests against the media and that is an easy thing to do. Say one day MSNBC was targeted. Fox, CNN, the other media outlets would cover it. The MSM loves to eat each other, they would report it. The signs would be seen, people would be interviewed. The media is no better than that of the old USSR. Call them out, take them to task, they need to report the news, honestly and unbiased.
I truly believe if it were not for the MSM we would not have this usurpation of power in the executive branch. Many of the Democrats in the Senate have complained, Byrd sent a letter to Obama and told him he was abusing the power and eliminating the checks and balances. I do not believe that most Democrats want one man in charge of this country. Only the CPUSA and the Che lovers want that.

51. Dear Republicans.
You are NOT going to do anything...other than make fools of your diminutive selves with your flamboyant bluster. Your best play is to try to rebuild that lava-encrusted turd you call a political party and see if you can win at the ballot box.

The absolute worse you asshats will do is shoot a few people in the back or through the windows of their houses --under cover of darkness, of course. Then you'll quickly skulk away with the warm pee puddled in your dirty socks. Really, you're intimidating no one. And few of us really want to watch you clowns masturbate in public.

So either take my advice or STFU. You really don't have the grit for anything else.

And you never will.

Your pal,

Birthmark

55. No, see, it's only okay when they do it!
Granted, I don't think I've seen DU go so far as announcing armed marches and plans for provisional governemnts with Skinner as the head of state. Between the site just not allowing that kind of talk and the fact that there's a lot of unconditional pacifists here, that probably makes sense, though.

There were times in Bush's term where I was wondering, though..

Sigh. I guess it’s time. I don’t know if I changed or Free Republic changed, although I suspect the latter. Either way, I’m not on board for any of this. I don’t want any part of rebellion, even speculatively.

On Sept 12th. Hmmm, I guess they will all be armed, and will probably invite Sarah Palin to address them. They keep saying to bring the children to the march so the police and liberals won't attack them.

Do you think they will have as many people as the Anti-War marches? LOL

82. This is a big part of the fantasy for many over there
check out the part about "looters"

To: P-Marlowe
Fifty to seventy million actual Americans must join in the march. All elected Washington politicians would be removed from office and escorted out of DC. They would return at their peril. This would clearly be an excuse for some throughout the nation to begin the rioting—in other words, LOOTING—which is traditional for those who have spent their lives wanting something for nothing. Looters would have to be shot on sight.

88. These people are deluded.
Especially if they think that a few wingnuts are going to cause the entire government (except the SoS, WTF!) to resign or be thrown out of office. And as far as I know, there is no provision for a recall election for the POTUS or for Congress.

Just because probably all the people they associate with think like them doesn't mean that a vast majority would want this.

Nutty and treasonous.

Otherwise, he's advocating Hillary Clinton choose the next President, and I can't imagine he'd do that. So if that's the case, where did the Secretary of State come from? And why doesn't he just stick to the Constitution and go to the Speaker of the House?

The whole government is going to crumble and proclaim him the savior. He will step aside and appoint Hillary prez (or is it CEO) to set the republic aright and return to all those traditional values.
