Why can't the creator of a thread un-recommend it? |

That error message makes sense only if un-recommending is a kind of recommending. In that case, you would be entitled to tell people "I recommended your thread" if you actually un-recommended it.

If we had started with just unrecommends and no recommends, so that any given thread had received a rating of at most zero, then would things have been set up to prevent unrecommending of one's own thread?
