Hey, did anyone see Dan Rather being interviewed after Cronkite's death
Dan was being interviewed & directly behind him the building sign said NBC NEWS, lol...Can't blame Dan for not being in front of the CBS building, after the way in which he left (or was forced out I should say)....No FAUX News personnel would ever be fired, no matter what he or she said about a Democrat....Someone there could make up a story about a Democrat having sex & doing cocaine with a kangaroo & they'd just laugh it off, probably even get a raise...

I always liked Dan Rather....I really wish I would have gotten to see him make that election call for Barack Obama back on 11/4/08 at 11:00pm (EST)...

1. Rachel
I think she had Rather on maybe two hours after Walter's death?

Pretty good scoop on Rachel's part considering how closely Walter and Dan have been in their careers.

3. I don't think CRONKITE's replacement by RATHER was a friendly event.
And Mika MOUSE was working one of her legacy kid's jobs in Dan's shop at the time he was forced out. She said in an interview that she herself had just bagged a big bucks contract with CBS when he was forced out, then when COURIC was signed with HER big bucks, CBS needed to cut back and Mika MOUSE got tossed. Ms MOUSE has frequently said nice things about Dan and hosted him on the SCABS circus.

Dan was great during the Tricky Dick years and in confronting Poppy BUSH and others , but I think he bumped CRONKITE. There was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in his Shrub-AWOL story that was NOT TRUE, it had ALL pretty much been out there since Fortunate Son. He was FRAGGED. Probably by KKKarl and Roger STONE.

So, back to the point, all in all his thing with CRONKITE was probably the one little negative.

4. good point
my wording was bad, and I think back when Dan replaced Walter it was a bit messy and competitive. Mostly what I was referring to was their crossed paths in their business. Particularly the Kennedy assassination, which made Rather's career.

they were both good journalists that both worked for CBS. anything else from me would be blathering.

2. I got to meet him after he was forced out...
I got upgraded to business class on a flight to Kansas City and didn't know it till we landed that he was seated right in front of me. As we were preparing to depart the plane almost everyone in Business Class shook his hand and told him how much we admired him. There were a couple of guys that were scowling. I'm not usually one to be "starstruck" but that was one time I felt somewhat awed. Very classy and friendly guy.
