6. Sunlight from the left, shadows cast to the right.
Seems overall consistent to me.

7. The back sides of the craters are being lit by a low-angle light source.
Entirely consistent.

The light is hitting the far side of the craters, and the near side is in shadow.

Dig a dole in your yard, and fix a post in the ground near it, and watch the shadows as the sun rises.

I suspect that what look like bumps are actually depressions in those photos.

19. Well, your confusion is consistent with your typical conspiracy theorist's.
You see something you want to see and there it is. Logical explanations are not enough, it seems. Hence, your question.

and also hence, the replies you receive.

24. I'm not looking of any conspiracy theorist...
Edited on Sun Jul-19-09 12:25 AM by parasim
I was just pointing out why the poster was suggesting this thread should go to the conspiracy dungeon. Assuming the moon is full of mountains instead of craters is somewhat illogical. Conspiracy theorists typically miss such detail in concocting their theories. That's all I'm saying.

on edit: not that you'll be reading this, but I do see that I was accusing you of being a conspiracy theorist, when I should'nt have. It appears that you honestly saw mountains instead of craters and posed a question about that... that's understandable, I apologize for accusing you of being something you are not.

There is no conspiracy here.

13. Looks like the sun is shining from the left
thus causing the shadow to the right of the module. Because it's shining from the left, it's illuminating the right side of the craters, while the left side of the craters is in shadow.
