Blue Cross/Blue Shield to Launch Ad Campaign Against Obama Plan
http://tinyurl.com/os73jj

President Barack Obama has issued the call for the medical insurance industry to produce significant reform so millions of Americans still uncovered or underinsured by the healthcare insurance industry can obtain affordable medical care and to rein in the skyrocketing cost of premiums for the individuals who do have access to it. In response, Blue Cross Blue Shield has notified the Washington Post that it has an ad campaign in the development stage that will lambaste many of the reforms advocated by the president.

Interesting comments at the end.

They collect $250 a month from us and in return we get to smile while they bend us over a chair each time we attempt to attain any kind of medical treatment.

2. they take a pound of flesh from us: $1700/month for husband and wife

and it still isnt enough. They aren't covering out of network at 70% like they should so they are trying to charge us $2000 for a neuropsych exam and $3000 because my husband's surgeon had to change course in the middle of surgery otherwise my husband would have died on the table (they didnt precert the alternative procedure). We are fighting. I broke down on the phone and cried when the agent told me that they would refuse to honor a $500 estimate that the doctor's office had quoted us and the doctor's office had precerted the neuropsych exam. I had explicitly asked them to double check the charge BEFORE I saw the doctor. In fact, I have an email stating what the payment should be before I had the exam. This is just fraud; they intended to decieve me on the estimate. There was nothing not standard done in that exam. I am hopping mad.

5. I am furious... I would have delayed that examination until I had $2000
to spend on it. Or... I would have looked harder to find a good doctor in my network. My condition is a subtle one and I can't just pull a name out of a phone book. My insurance was written out of the state of Massachussetts and I don't live there. So, everything is out of network! Fortunately we are switching to a local BCBS .... my husband has diabetes and has to stay with BCBS -- no one else will cover him.

At what point do these freaks decide that they are taking enough money? $1700/month is the most that I have heard anyone between 50-60 years old pay!

Thank god Obama is getting covering Pre-existing conditions in the health care bill.
