South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, still clinging to office after admitting to an extramarital affair, wrote in an opinion piece released Sunday that God will change him so he can emerge from the scandal a more humble and effective leader.

So God will change him? Into what??

A bigger dick then he already is?
A better lier so he wont get caught again?
A circus clown so no one will recognize him in SC? (wait, that doesn't work anymore)
A heap of gelatinous goo?

When these Republicans cheat on their wives and get caught, they almost talk about it as a blessing because it will change their lives and make them better persons, better husbands, more effective leaders, more humble, etc. I never hear them admit to what bad people they are before they get caught and how God needs to change them. Instead, they walk around with holier-than-thou chips on their shoulders, calling for Bill Clinton to step down, and talking up their family values. Maybe adultery should become a required party duty of any Republican in office so that God can change them and make them great. Maybe it already is.

Typical of his type. You can always tell those self-righteous jerks have no idea what Jesus was even trying to say in his speeches. Hell, one of the first things he said while making his speech in Matthew's gospel was never to make your prayers or your relationship with God public, because that's just self-righteousness and showing off.

It reminds me of when Dateline used to do those "To Catch a Predator" shows. A lot of times, they caught some Freeper-type loser trying to proposition a 13-year-old, and when they were interviewed, they'd always do their best to shoehorn Jesus into the conversation, just to show how moral and humble they were.\

I think God probably has the personality of Fred Sanford, ready to smack these dummies upside the head.
