Fox News guest wants Taliban to kill captured American soldier
Source: Kos

I couldn't believe my ears, but just minutes ago on "America's News HQ," guest pundit Ralph Peters suggested something to the effect that the Taliban should "save us the headache" and execute captured 23 year-old American soldier Bowe Bergdahl, because "it looks like" Bergdahl deserted his unit.

While prefacing his comments by stressing that a military decision should not be made until all of the facts surrounding Bergdahl's capture are determined, Peters then ignored his own advice and encouraged the Taliban to kill this young man. Fox News' Julie Banderas was visibly shocked at the words coming out of Peters' mouth, but did not challenge any of his statements before awkwardly ending the segment.

...This appears to be only the latest example of the Right's tendency to exploit and discard American soldiers whenever politically convenient (opposing soldier benefits that might hurt "retention rates," covering up the Pat Tillman fratricide, etc).

1. Wow.
Too Nazi even for Faux to be comfortable with. Am I the only one that smells a rat with his desertion story. The guy makes a few anti-American statements and now he's suddenly a deserter? Hmmm...

Either way, Sig Heil to the motherfucking first class grade A asshat that Faux decided to give air time to so he could spew his verbal vomit.

8. Many captured military persons have made anti-U.S. statements...
They are under duress and fearing for their lives. Didn't McCain confess to being a ware criminal?

14. Yes and yes
Which is my point. It's hardly unusual for captured prisoners to make propaganda statements, but this is the first time I've heard anybody come out and say that they are a deserter after they've done so. I mean, think about it, this asshole just basically got on international TV and slammed a U.S. soldier in enemy custody. Even if the soldier really is guilty of that, isn't that just handing your enemy another propaganda victory right there?

I don't know, something about the story stinks.

3. What kind of nitwit believes a soldier is going to desert in the middle
of fucking Afghanistan, surrounded by Taliban goons who can't wait to decapitate any American they can get their hands on?

I bet he wouldn't last five minutes in Bergdahl's boots.

11. Julie Banderas put as much space as possible between Fox News and this crackpot.
I'm guessing that he just had his last gig.

... if that were my son the Afghans were holding I would track down Ralph Peters and do some ultra-violence to him.
