More brilliance from an actor.

The conspiracy theory that the Apollo moon landings were a hoax, fake in a studio somewhere, has its first Hollywood celebrity proponent. According to Debbie Schlussel, Whoopi Goldberg announced her doubts on July 20th airing of The View.

2. Well, people actually *do* care what actors have to say . . .
And so when one (reputedly -- I haven't seen the footage) says something stupid like this, it makes news. If you or I made such statements, it's unlikely to stir up the blogs.

Celebrity is power, whether it should be or not. Activist actors know that and spend their cred to the extent they choose.

Personally, since Goldberg has always appeared at least sane to me, I'm guessing she was vamping and filling time. Sort of her "marrying other species" moment.

3. Debbie Schlussel is not highly regarded here. She's a staunch Republican and a shrill warmonger.

5. I stopped reading as soon as I saw the reference to Debbie Schlussel
She's like a lesser known Ann Coulter.
