1. Dr. Rendezvous!
saw that reference twice today

I didn't mind the show so much. it was purposely meant to be low key, and more docu than drama.

if the personal stuff is accurate, I learned quite a bit about the personal dynamics involved between the astros and their admins, like Deke Slayton. you know his deal, yes?

the Right Stuff is on now at TCM. they've been doing some insane programming today....taped some of it.

2. Thanks the dynamics were impressive partly because the egos were that big
still are. One of my university alumni was an astro, and she came to talk to us. So I asked, she said that NASA does have issues with egos. Yes, even today

3. how could they not, when you think of it? the cream of the cream of the crop
have you read The Right Stuff?

if not, go out now and get it. I don't care if you're in bed, the tub, loaded, or what. go get it. I remember reading it in Rolling Stone, wherein it was serialized. hard to praise it any higher

speaking of huge too bad Wolfe lost his stuff, as of the last few decades. can't get through anything he's written, which is a shame, as I enjoyed his first books immensely. his shrewd eye has been occluded by his ever increasing conservatism, though, along with a creepy, dirty-old mannish obsession

anyway.....if you haven't the TRS, go get it. I think I might do that myself....been a long time
