2. Thanks for posting this news. |

I had not heard this. After reading your post, I looked up some of the you tube clips of them and was transferred back in time. They made some beautiful music together. He will be missed.

3. I remember as a young surfer boy maybe 14 or 15 I saw them on the |
|
beach at Waikiki. It was '65 or so. They had the glasses and the whitest skin I'd ever seen.

4. Young to die of cardiovascular disease... |
|
LEDYARD, Conn. (AP) -- Gordon Waller of the pop duo Peter and Gordon -- part of the 1960s British invasion -- died Friday of cardiovascular disease at a hospital in Norwich, Conn. He was 64.
Waller met Peter Asher at the Westminster School in London; together, they topped music charts worldwide in 1964 with A World Without Love.
Paul McCartney -- who was dating Asher's sister, actress Jane -- wrote the song.
Peter and Gordon had top-20 Billboard hits with three other McCartney tunes: I Don't Want To See You Again, Nobody I Know and Woman.
They also reached the top 10 with I Go to Pieces and Lady Godiva.
The duo disbanded in 1967.

6. How sad. I loved those songs. Sometimes |

my 16-yr-old tunes in a "60's" station and we listen together. She's amazed that I know the names of the songs and artists and almost always, the lyrics. Back then, in the days before ipods and laptops, the transistor radio was the static-ridden device that broadcast the soundtrack of a teen's life, and, in the mid-60's, Peter and Gordon were a big part of it. Today Peter's daughter plays in a band called Cobra Starship, which has had some success, but nothing like that enjoyed back in the day by her dad.
