I have read here daily since 2001. I have yet to see anyone here claim to be in the healthcare insurance business. I could have missed it, but to date, I can't recall a one! Are all insurance agencies run by republicans? If so, I think we just identified the problem! We saw what eight years of republican rule did to the United States, and the insurance industry seems to be run by the same lack of competence and compassion as the Bush administration. Simple solution......ban all republicans from the insurance business!

I worked in the insurance industry for nearly a decade. Part of my job responsibilities included the preparation and submission of rate and form filings. It is that experience that leads me to conclude that the present proposals are a clusterfuck destined to be less than successful. They simply cannot realize the administrative cost savings as a single payer system and that public option is destined to become the insurer of last resort - a national high risk insurance pool.
There really is no acceptable reason to not create a sigle payer system. Citizens are too lazy to demand it. Politicians are either bought and paid for or too spineless and lacking in leadership ability to enact the necessary provisions. And we are all lacking in humanity
