The United States Press and Honduras.
This weekend there was a post on DU about peace talks breaking down in Honduras. This thread was quite typical for DU, it contained many links. What was contained in these articles was eye opening for education and background on what was going on before the coup.

Here is a list of links. This post is to highlight what we're not getting from the U.S. press. This post is for our education if you missed it.

The DU thread of only about 55 posts is:

2, http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/815841...

3. http://www.chinapost.com.tw/editorial/worl... ...

4. Not a paper, it’s a public opinion monitoring company

5. Not a paper, it’s a blog, but loaded with background

6. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/am... ...

7. http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/opino... ...

Many of these links are from Asian papers, but it appears they are not all using the same source.

Where is the San Jose Mercury and St. Petersburg papers, if not the NYT or LAT?

This list is not accompanied by an analysis of the content, it is only a heads up about where the gaps are being bridged.

I feel a shift is going on? Is it possible that the Republican papers (which is most of the papers in this country) can't get into this because they favor the movement to kick Zelaya out and keep him out since it is what Cheney would have done, but the movement to kick and keep him out is being done by this White House?
This is one of many posts about Honduras with many good links.
