Does anybody have a corporate number for Chase?
Edited on Tue Jul-21-09 09:51 AM by Buddyblazon
I contacted them through the number on one of their letters. I was directed to Manila.

I want to talk to someone at their corporate offices...in the US. I want an American on the other end of the line when I tell them what pieces of shit they are.

6. Those cock-suckers.
2 months after I opened a free checking account they snail-mailed me with a promotion where you get $100 free simply for opening a new account and depositing $100 in. I asked if they could credit me retro-actively and they said "No, it only applies to new accounts."

10. My experience.
I had a problem with Chase two or three months ago,
and had to get a deposit canceled because they didn't
know where the check was.

I asked the customer service rep if I would be charged
for this stop payment, and she said no.

But then, guess what? They charged me $12 for it.

I promptly went to my nearest credit union, and now
I'm in the process of moving my Chase money over there.

I told Chase they were going to lose my business, and
guess what? They don't care!!!!

FUCK CHASE!!!

8. Your post was timely.
I just got a notice from those idiots saying they are reducing my credit limit on an account that I have with them. Never paid late, yada, yada, yada - in essence the same scenario that I've seen written on DU many times of late. I've done nothing to deserve this treatment by them. They are just being jerks.

More incentive for me to get them paid in full as soon as possible.

9. That's where we are at.
They closed our card with the largest balance...even though we've payed $3000 dollars on it the last two months...and about to pay another $2000 in the next couple of days.

Actually...that's probably why they closed it.

I called to see if it was already closed....because we'd rather we closed it then them. Nope. They'd closed it. So I gave them the other two accounts we have that were recently purchased by Chase....and close them both.

Wanted to do it before they could.

It's coming folks. You'd rather close your own accounts then have them close them. Do it now before they close them...and they will close them. Just a matter of time.

11. Yes, I think they lower the credit line as the balance drops
They are, of course, penalizing the people who try to pay their bills on time, etc.

Lowering your credit limit cuts your FICO score, which in turn, gives them the ammunition they need/want to increase your rate. What a racket! It's not rocket science.

I want to be a good citizen. I want to pay my bills and I want to pay them timely and properly. But if it gets to a point where I cannot do that, I am going to remember who screwed me over first.

Chase took the stimulus money and held it to pay their executives big bonuses...and then they treat customers like me as if WE are the criminals???!!! Nah, I know who the real criminal is.

14. How can they close an account that has an outstanding balance? Or did they just cut your available
credit to 'none'?

16. Some Little Algorithm Spit Out Your Name
I've got one I am paying off where they gave me some transfer rates at 4.99, and 3.99, which come out to about 4.56 monthly.

Capital One, normally pretty good, jacked my rate up from 9.99 to 19.99, with a quick stop, and return to 17.99 in between, and afterward. I did nothing for that.

Another Chase card I had threatened to raise rates, or offered canceling, which I chose. I am paying it off at 7.99 percent.

Once again, for no reason, never late, etc. I think the thing in the algorithm that got me was I had used most of my credit limit, which I believe is the one that gets most folks. Funny, they will raise rates if you don't use it much at all, or if you use it to the max.

Like everything else in life, in America, the most favored people for use of credit cards, are really the people who don't need them, the ones who can pay them off each month, or if they feel a company's probe finding its way up their, um, you know.

Life is so the reverse of what it should be. The rich, who can afford it should get the highest rates, and the poor should get the lowest, but Noooo, that'd be too damn much like right!!

I'd just suggest watching for those lower percentage payoff rates, and transfer that sucker, if you can't pay them off. Usually, they leave promo rates alone, as with the card I've got that I am paying down. I think the actual rates on that one have risen to 19.99 percent too. But they left the promotionals' alone.

13. Chase Customer Care Line: 1-800-EAT-SHIT
They don't care. Really, they don't.

Break them up, make banks local...then all of us can go sit in front of someone and ask them to explain their predatory policies.

15. I used their promotions to take money at 2.99% and 4.99%.
I over paid every month and have never been late. Starting in SEP they have raised my minimum payment 150%. They don't like that someone has their money at 2.99 and 4.99. I reported it to Durbin. They are sleazy predators.
