4. HA! I had to break into an elderly neighbors home (went through her |

window)...She had left her key in the apartment. If law enforcement had ridden by to watch that little episode the would have screeched on the brakes. Elderly neighbor decided to go back inside her neighbors apartment so was no where in "sight"...Yikes.

5. You need a link. The story is a bit more complex than one might think. |
|
A woman in the neighborhood phoned the police and said "Two black guys are breaking in next door!" That's what the police responded to. What she saw was two guys shoving/battering the door open.
Turns out, the professor's door was jammed. He went round back and opened the back door, turned off the alarm, and went back around front where he asked his driver (he was coming home from a trip to China) to help him with his bags and to see if he couldn't unjam the door.
The guy is on a cane, too, fwiw.
Now, the police (who have a record of, shall we say, "insensitivity" in that neighborhood) claim that they arrested him because he was being disorderly (i.e. he was giving them a "bit of business"). How disorderly can a guy with a cane get? He was yelling at them, is all. They should have simply said "Sorry, Professor, we got a call that two black guys were breaking into your house. You fit the description. We're sorry to have upset you, but we hope you noted our prompt reaction time. Have a nice night."
They did arrive quickly--he was on the phone with the maintenance company to have them out to fix the door.
