I have been watching from a distance, republicans threatening to kill health care so they can get rid of President Obama, republicans and democrats taking money from lobbiests to deny us the health care we wanted, and shift it to make the medical industry even more wealthy.
I am absolutely disgusted that insurance companies that raise our rates every time they get a chance have millions to pay lobbiests to keep us needy, sick and paying.
I keep hearing that everyone in American has healthcare... those that don't have insurance and Doctors go to the Emergency Rooms, the highest cost available... paid for by reimbursements to the hospitals by the federal government - taxpayers.
So... if we don't get a public option, abortion procedures, portability, affordability, and coverage for previous conditions....
..............then cancel your insurance and go to the ER until Congress and the Insurance companies and the hospitals understand you mean business.
They ALL work for you. Don't let them cheat you again.

It's not practical - 1) I can't cancel my insurance unless I cancel my job, un unenroll at the end of the year... 2) I have dependents who have special needs and I don't want to sacrifice their existence for my principles, 3) I already filed Chapter 7 too recently, so getting huge medical bills that I can't pay and having to resolve in court won't work because you can only file Chapter 7 every so often and it's too soon for me to file: Chapter 13 would have me destitute for life.
I'd rather work on getting a massive march on Congress - during their first day in session if they go on recess without sorting out healthcare - than forgoing what coverage I do have.

Yes, I understand.... some of us have special problems and cannot cancel...
But Lots of folks that pay their own health care have seen rates spiral ever upward no matter how they try not to make a claim...
Lots of young upward mobile folks can simply cancel it and head to the ER...
Insurance companies and the medical lobbiests need to feel the pinch we have.
