Has Obama taken any vacation yet?

I know he had the Saturday night in New York City that some right wing whackadoodles complained about. And there a couple touristy things he did with the family in between summits and speeches overseas. I could be wrong, but I don't think he's spent more than a couple days off duty.

Remember the last guy was on vacation on August 4 when he received a little PDB at his ranch - and had been on vacation for most of that summer already. The thing that galled me the most about their failure to prevent 9/11 wasn't so much that they didn't stop it - maybe all the vigilance in the world wouldn't have been enough. But it is clear that they didn't do everything they could. Remember right in the 9/11 commission report, it said that not so much as one meeting or conference call took place between August 4 and September 11 regarding national security, despite the fact that George Tenet said in June or July that the system was blinking red. If a tragedy happens, I at least want to know people were working hard to stop it. I at least want to see some minutes from some meetings on the subject.

Say what you want about Obama and maybe his struggles to live up to everyone's expectations, and a lot of the complaints from the left are completely valid, but the man is in there working for us and getting his hands dirty. If health care reform (which is admittedly a different type of issue than preventing terror attacks, but make no mistake, our health care problems are causing people to die) doesn't happen, it isn't because he sat on the sidelines. Ill take this type of leadership any time. You know when Obama finally does take his vacation days, he has put in the hours to earn them.
