Rachel Maddow calling out Lou Dobbs at CNN for being an idiot "birther."
She's taking apart the whole "Obama doesn't have a birth certificate" crap and debunking it soundly.

Spanking Lou Dobbs for covering such nonsense in the "mainstream media."

1. Sadly, the people that watch Rachel already know that the birther bullshit
is just that--bullshit. Bullshit they use to thinly disguise their racism and utter hatred that a black man--a BLACK man--is President.

3. Yep, she's preaching to the choir I'm afraid.
I watched about 10 minutes of Dobbs tonight-he was insufferable.

The core of FDR hate was "he was a traitor to his class." If yuu've ever visited Hyde Park you'd understand just how privliged he was.

The core of Clinton hate was "he was a race-traitor." At least that was the core in Arkansas, started by a racist judge whose name escapes me. Clinton just learned simple humanity from his grandparents and actually walking the walk took some courage back then-maybe we've regressed so much that it takes courage again.

Obama-hate: makes me physcially ill and hopeless.

5. At least Dobbs and the rest of CNN will see it or hear about it
and hopefully feel like jackasses. Eh, I doubt it come to think of it.

11. But not every Maddow fan knows the real Lou Dobbs. Hell, DU had quite a few Dobbs defenders for
awhile.

4. this birther thing is excellent for dems: the longer it stays on the air, the
more obvious to everyone else it will become that the republican base is a bunch of stark, raving, crazy, racist mouthbreathers

Dobbs should have Alan Keyes on every day, along with that goofy lawyer

over and over and over

8. I love the birfers
Love, love love them. They are batshit insane and are mostly part of the Republican base. I love watching the Republicans try to hold on to them and still distance themselves from them all at the same time. Talk about juggling with fire sticks.

The Republicans are between a rock and a hard place with these nut cases. It is a joy to behold. It's like watching a high stakes game of Twister.

10. LOL! I think about the repubs' base and...
Edited on Tue Jul-21-09 10:05 PM by Spazito
it now consists of the batshit crazy: the rabid fundies, the tinfoil birfers and the psychotic white supremacists.

Watching the repub politicians juggle keeping their batshit crazy base happy while still trying to come across as semi-sane themselves is getting harder and harder!

9. Was Dobbs covering it or was he questioning Obama's natural born status? I haven't
Edited on Tue Jul-21-09 10:03 PM by Ilsa
watched Dobbs in ages because he's been spewing such vile crap. If he was saying Obama has to prove his citizenship, then he really has turned in to one ugly mofo.

12. From the clip Maddow showed, Dobbs was demanding Obama's birth certificate.
Which is like :wtf: because she showed it up on the screen and reminded everyone that Hawaii is in fact a state in the US.

If he sees Maddow's segment, he should feel like a real dumb ass.

These people are certifiable.

14. When I first heard the term "Birthers" I got really worried.
I thought that it was some radical movement of rabid Pro Lifers who were demanding that all women have kids all the time.

I was a bit relieved to find out that all they want is one person's birth certificate. Whew. At the age of fifty seven, I was just not up for the fertility treatments etc that I thought was going to come from the Birthers' movement!
