If Obama's message was "We're all in this together," why are we not all in this together?
Health care? We all need it. We all need it to NOT be associated with employment; we all need it NOT to cost us more than we can afford or be PUNITIVE; we all need the predatory insurance companies out of the rigged game; we all need the Greatest Nation on Earth to catch up with EVERY civilized First World Nation on Earth and provide universal coverage.

Oh really? They provide education, mass transit and actual NEWS also? We'll get back to you on that.

Predatory lending based on speculation on speculation on speculation on specualation ruined the global economy? I know!! Let's put the exact same professional speculators in charge of the national economy and in prime positions in the State Department!!!!!!!!

When he said "We're all in this together" and claimed to speak for We The People, who the hell was he really talking to?$

15. no, I'm pissed off at "useful idiots" who make up an unwitting coalition
focused on maintaining the status quo. ALl the patchouli smelling hemp wearing uber-liberals among us are idealogically pure and would rather we fail to get any health care reform if they can't have their pet brand of health care reform. Wow. that sounds like the dipshits that voted for Nader in 2000.

Well, at least Al Gore can thank them for that since he got a Nobel Peace Prize out of the deal.

Yeah. I'm angry and worked up at the inertia of this group and its reflection of the whole U.S. population.

We're mad if a page takes longer than 10 seconds to load so obviously most of us can't be bothered to pick up the phone to call a congressman or go meet with them in a town hall or write an actual pen and ink letter to the editor. No, that is just TOO MUCH! Give us a text number where we can vote yes or no.

And the worst offenders are the bloated former protesters/activists of the Baby Boomer generation.

28. And you have to be nasty personal because you have no point to make
And because you support a bigoted 'reform' plan that discriminates against millions of Americans. And you wonder why those it discriminates against do not join in your dance of joy over the bigotry? Grow the fuck up. Our families are important to us, not your rage.

Now go back and rage away some more against those who are not like you. It shows more than you will ever know.

29. " It shows more than you will ever know." It really does.
It shows that macho bigotry and violence is obsolete; common sense common cause is all that's left, if we pretend to be the U.S.A. and not CorporationLandInc.

At least the discussions could be civilized.

20. The hostility and bizarre cliches in response to your post show how divisive things are
a Get With The First World system is the only thing that makes sense, unless we are a corporate government. It's become undeniable....

Oh, I see, that's were the Nader references came in. What a convenient scapegoat, who warned what would -- and has -- happened...

How convenient to hate cliches and scapegoats and ignore the fact that people are dying from the industry run system and would continue to do so, without a sane solution.

16. Obama is blowing smoke up your ass if he said that.
Witness all the single-payer advocates being virtually shut out of serious negotiations with health care reform. This led me to one conclusion.

We are not all in this together. The only people in the life boats are the rich and their crones. The people who are too poor to afford lobbyists are left to sink to the bottom of the ocean. Sure, once in a while we get a life saver, and it helps make us think this Republic is still controlled by ordinary people, but it's not enough to correct the situation.

Why are we having endless gameplaying instead of a modern Western civilzation solution that moves powerful industry's mercenary profits out of national health care?

It's the only sane solution if we are not already totally corrupted.

44. "We lead developed world in poverty and inequality"
http://thehill.com/op-eds/we-lead-developed-world-in-poverty-and-inequality-2008-11-17.html

Reminds me of a Simpsons episode (the one with Frank Scorpio). Complete paraphrase:

Scorpio: I don't want you to think of me as your boss; I'm just like any of you.
Scorpio: Of course, I have a private bathroom, my office is a lot bigger than yours, I leave earlier, and I go home to a mansion at night.
Scorpio: But other than that, I'm just like you!
