This was BREAKING NEWS from the LA Times
No, kidding, they are still doing BREAKING NEWS on Michael Jackson hype:

From an Breaking News email alert I received from LA Times:

Breaking news: Michael Jackson TV special falls apart

Los Angeles Times | July 21, 2009 | 1:20 p.m. PT

---

Michael Jackson TV special falls apart

Frenzied international interest in all things Michael Jackson notwithstanding, it appears there won't be a TV special this fall.

AEG Live, the promoter behind Jackson's 50 "This Is It" comeback concerts in London, has been negotiating for several days with movie studios for the film rights to the concert rehearsal footage as well as broadcast rights to a tie-in television special.

Although NBC was interested in the project as recently as Monday, and other networks showed interest last week, all of the networks balked over AEG’s $20-million price tag for a show that would not include any new or exclusive footage of Jackson performing, several network sources said. Originally, AEG had tried to sell the special to air Aug. 29 -- Michael Jackson's birthday -- which falls on a Saturday.

6. The MJ case was also "breaking news" when I turned on CNN today
I thought that there must be some tragedy: shooting, bombing, fire, accident, but they were removing evidence from his doctor's office...

And I heard that he'd merely "taken a turn for the worse..." That was the news for weeks, back then. ;)

4. LA Is Still Jacko-ed Up
I was chatting with a buddy who lives in Palos Verdes...he was laughing about not just the media coverage of Jacko that still permeates LA TV but how its still a hot topic among people he comes in contact with. If it's not the questions about his death and lifestyle, it's when and where he'll be burried and who gets the kids. So I'm not surprised the LA Times is still running with this stuff...it's what sells newspapers for a business that's already bankrupt and close to shutting down altogether.

5. I suspect he's already buried somewhere ...
... IIRC, he or his family requested cremation and perhaps that's already long been done - to avoid the spectacle of 'grave worshippers' or risk of some idiots graverobbing for profit.
