It's been 37 years since the government sent humans to the moon. Since then, private industry |

has had the opportunity to do the same.
Their accomplishments so far ...

1. Society has a 5-day attention span. |
|
Today's "great leaders of industry" have a 5-year window.
Nobody thinks long-term any more...and that will be (already is) our downfall.

all of the wasted resources could have put up a least a space habitat that would dwarf the current space station, and we could even be mining the asteroids remotely even. Yea thats a bit of a stretch, But consider the wasted research for tanks, jets like the stealths and all the other 'black ops' stuff.

4. Same with the economy... |

Rush and Hannity keep talking about how the private sector, rather than the government, is the only possible savior for the economy.
Well, they've had plenty of time. I don't see the private sector doing much beyond downsizing and outsourcing, and finding ways to screw individuals financially while somehow making institutional profits. Sure, Goldman Sachs made billions, but did they create more than a handful of jobs since they were bailed out?
And I love how they keep bitching about how the government "took over" GM and Chrysler and are "nationalizing" them, as if they were thriving companies forced into servitude at the hands of government fascists. As I recall, they were both going to collapse entirely unless the government stepped in to rescue them, and the government wants to wash their hands of the companies as soon as they're viable...

8. hey ... we were the ones who tried to talk the voters out of hiring some guy whose |
|
track record showed that every business venture he was involved in until he was "elected" in 2000 resulted in bankruptcy ... but the "liberal media" ignored that ...
and look ... he got his golden parachute, and the country is bankrupt ...
