Anyone hear the interviews on NPR this afternoon (12:00 pm CDT) |
|
I was listening to NPR during the half hour following noon (CDT) today and I heard a interviewer talk with essentially two subjects:
1) Someone who represented what sounded like a private health insurance plan to cover uninsured Americans. She seemed to show the same concern public-planners had but stressed the need for it to be overseen by private insurers. She downplayed some of the statistics about the immense profits enjoyed by health-care insurance companies (she said these stats are a "red herring" and that big pharma and big hospitals are making greater profits than insurance corporations ).
2) Someone who suffered a botched job in the treatment he was getting for cancer by the Veterans Administration. He's suing the VA...
I thought, "Hmmm, two 'interviews' that show public and government health care in a bad light." I wonder if these were somehow related?
Anyone else catch these "interviews?"
