Right Wing Shipping Superintendent
I was delivering a load and picking up a load today in northern Illinois. I was talking to the shipping superintendent and he mentioned to me that the driver who came up here the other day said your employer froze your wages this year. I told him that’s true and the sad thing about it is we’re underpaid already. Then I went on to tell him about our high cost of health insurance too. With a smirk and a chuckle he says, Obama is gonna fix that!

I then proceeded to tell him, I hope so. I have a lot of faith in President Obama, but at the same time I know he’s facing many congress critters that get a lot of money from the insurance lobby to finance their reelection campaigns. Then I added how my employer each and every year is paying more dollars to provide health insurance for his employees. I told him that this in turn is keeping our wage’s low, when we should be getting raises and making a liveable salary. I went on to tell him a couple years ago Toyota was going to build a new factory down south and employ a couple thousand workers, but instead they decided to build the new plant in Canada because it would cost them too much to provide health insurance for the employees. I went on and on about how this country needs a national health care program and how not having a national health care is costing the working man. The superintendent didn’t have anymore to say.

After signing the paperwork I walked out of the office and was walking towards my truck. The shipping clerk (pretty little gal) comes outside and say’s, I’m so glad you stood up and put my boss in his place. We have to listen to his right wing dribble everyday and it’s refreshing when someone from the outside tells him the truth.

1. You lived up to your name
and calmly stated the facts. Kudos to you!

Luckily my boss, an MD, is for what Obama is doing, so I don't have to put up with right wing baloney at work.

2. I love when that happens
Someone who can speak the truth without being in fear they will be fired. It made those who have to work under this wingbat feel good.

Ooooooooo, I think I just devised a new word --- WINGBAT

3. Gotta speak your mind. It helps. It helped that woman. Maybe it will educate her boss.

7. I'm glad she took the time to tell me. A person
like me needs encouragement every now and then to continue to speak out.
