CHICAGO (AFP) – A baby attacked by rats bled to death in her Louisiana crib while an Ohio infant lost two toes to the vicious rodents in a pair of bizarre attacks.

Three people were charged with child endangerment after authorities determined that the six-week-old Ohio baby had been bitten repeatedly by rodents "over a lengthy period of time," the Pike County sheriff department said.

But charges have not yet been filed in the case of the Louisiana child who bled to death last week from hundreds of rat bites, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported.

The girl's father was found screaming outside his home when paramedics arrived and her parents told police they did not hear the three-month-old cry out when she was attacked during her nap time.

Neighbors told the Picayune that the children always appeared well-cared for and that the father had recently set out traps for the rats that plagued the area. A funeral was held Thursday.

3. Does anybody think this is just a coincidence?
Edited on Thu Jul-23-09 02:52 PM by stopbush
Hell no! This has CONSPIRACY written all over it!

Someone is training rats to chew on kids, probably some CIA-led black bag op. Notice that one of the kids lived in Louisiana, which is right near New Orleans which is where Oswald handed out his Free Cuba leaflets. Coincidence? Just how naive are you people?

And Ohio? Excuse me, but do you think it's purely a coincidence that this episode happened just as Ohio got itself a DemocRATic governor? C'mon, people. It's so obvious!

And did you notice? - no mention at all whether these kids had birth certificates!

I'm guessing it's the Bilderbergers working with the Mob, the CIA, the RNC, maybe even NASA and the cast from Ice Road Truckers.

:sarcasm:

6. The Louisiana story is a little more complicated
The man's stepfather received federal funds to repair the house after Katrina but simply pocketed the money instead of making the repairs.

The parents weren't at fault here, they were just poor enough to have to live in substandard housing that was kept substandard by a greedy relative.

Infants and children sleep very soundly. If the rats had hit an artery, it wouldn't have cried out before it bled out.

Whitey on the Moon

A rat done bit my sister Nell.
(with Whitey on the moon)
Her face and arms began to swell.
(and Whitey's on the moon)
I can't pay no doctor bill.
(but Whitey's on the moon)
Ten years from now I'll be payin' still.
(while Whitey's on the moon)
The man jus' upped my rent las' night.
('cause Whitey's on the moon)
No hot water, no toilets, no lights.
(but Whitey's on the moon)
I wonder why he's uppi' me?
('cause Whitey's on the moon?)
I wuz already payin' 'im fifty a week.
(with Whitey on the moon)
Taxes takin' my whole damn check,
Junkies makin' me a nervous wreck,
The price of food is goin' up,
An' as if all that shit wuzn't enough:
A rat done bit my sister Nell.
(with Whitey on the moon)
Her face an' arm began to swell.
(but Whitey's on the moon)
Was all that money I made las' year
(for Whitey on the moon?)
How come there ain't no money here?
(Hmm! Whitey's on the moon)
Y'know I jus' 'bout had my fill
(of Whitey on the moon)
I think I'll sen' these doctor bills,
Airmail special
(to Whitey on the moon)

.....though i have to say that i understood Frost's line about "Good walls make good neighbors" a little differently when i visited Robert Frost's home in Derry NH.

Right across the street from Frost's house, someone built a Trailer Park.

Sometimes old poems become contemporary in ways the author didn't intend.
